Këshilli i Qarkut Dover (DDC) ka thyer terren në tre vendet e zhvillimit që së bashku do të ofrojnë 50 shtëpi të reja të përballueshme. All of the homes will be available for rent by local people on the Council’s waiting list.
The developments at Napchester Road in Whitfield (26 homes); Kimberley Close in Dover (16 homes); dhe, Stockdale Gardens in Deal (8 homes) are the latest phase in the biggest programme of new council housing built in the district in a generation.
DDC plans to build up to 500 shtëpi të reja të përballueshme.
Both the Kimberley Close and Stockdale Gardens developments are brownfield sites formerly occupied by Council garages. They are for social rent and will provide interim accommodation for people who find themselves homeless before they move into permanent homes.
The Napchester Road site is being developed by the Council as part of the Whitfield Urban Expansion. It will provide a mix of one and two-bedroom flats along with two, three, and four- bedroom houses for affordable rent. A single five-bedroom house is also being built.
Cllr Derek Murphy, DDC’s Cabinet Member for Housing, tha: “We’re delighted to start work on the next phase of our affordable housing development programme, delivering new homes for local people.
“We’re also building back better with homes which are more sustainable, designed to contribute to the Council’s net zero carbon target.”
All three developments are being built by Folkestone-based, Jenner Group.

DDC gjithashtu ka paraqitur plane për një tjetër 24 shtëpi të reja në Poulton Close në Dover.
