Në 11.00am të dielën 11 Nëntor 2018, 100 vjet më nga nënshkrimin e armëpushimit në 1918, Dover do të kujtuar të gjitha ushtarakëve dhe gratë që kanë dhënë jetën e tyre në shërbim të vendit të tyre. In this year of special thanksgiving for the end of the First World War, a mural commemorating the sacrifices made by those who served their country in time of war has been installed next to the War Memorial.

They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam”.

Një paradë e standardeve, veterans and other organisations will assemble outside the former Marks & Spencer in Biggin Street at 10.30am and march to the War Memorial in front of Maison Dieu House where two minutes silence will be observed at 11.00am. Shërbimi Memorial do të kryhet nga nderit kapelan i kryetarit, Reverend Dr John Walker and will be followed by the laying of wreaths. The parade will then march back through the town to the Market Square. Këshilltar Susan Jones, Town Kryetari e drejta adhuruese e Dover do të marrë përshëndes në St. Kisha e Marisë.
Service sheets will be available to members of the public at the service and is also available for download from the Town Council’s website këtu.
Priory Road will be closed from the roundabout to the Ladywell traffic lights, from approximately 10.50am, while the service is in progress.
The Royal British Legion Dover White Cliffs Branch will be laying out the Legion’s Memorial Crosses in the Garden of Remembrance and receiving donations in support of the 2018 Poppy Appeal from Friday 26th Tetor.
Christine Walton – Joint Secretary of the Dover White Cliffs Branch of the Royal British Legion and Organiser of the Poppy Appeal said –
The Dover Garden of Remembrance looks amazing. The British Legion Memorial Crosses will be in place from now until 2 weeks after Remembrance Sunday and the wreaths for a month. Anybody wishing to collect their wreath will be able to do so or they will be re-cycled.
