Mae Diwrnod y Siaradwr yn ddathliad cymunedol o hanes morwrol balch Dover fel y Porth i Loegr, coffadwriaeth o’r dynion a’r merched hynny y cyfrannodd eu gwaith caled a’u sgiliau at le Dover yn y stori genedlaethol a chadarnhad o benderfyniad ac ymrwymiad Pobl Dover i barhau i fod ar flaen y gad yn ein dyfodol morwrol.. It was especially good to be joined this year by serving personnel from the Brigade of Ghurkha’s Band and HMS Kent who were visiting the Town.

Rhoddodd y Brenin Harri III ei Siarter gyntaf hysbys i Gydffederasiwn y Cinque Ports 1260 dod â threfi arfordirol allweddol de-ddwyrain Lloegr at ei gilydd mewn cynghrair amddiffynnol. Mae’r Cydffederasiwn yn cynnal y cysylltiadau â’r dreftadaeth hanesyddol ac yn gweithio i hyrwyddo gwerth sgiliau morol a morol yn y gymuned heddiw.. Mae Llefarydd y Cinque Ports yn gweithredu fel Cadeirydd a phrif gynrychiolydd y Cydffederasiwn mewn rôl sy'n mynd yn ôl yn barhaus. 600 blynyddoedd hyd o leiaf 1357. Mae Maer Dover yn dal swydd y Llefarydd bob saith mlynedd mewn cylchdro gyda chwe phrif aelod arall o'r Cydffederasiwn..

The Procession from Dover Town Council to St Mary’s Church was caught in one of the worst downpours in living memory affirming the Confederation’s historic links with the wet and watery! But in the true tradition of the Confederation good humour won through. The medieval Dover Burghmote Horn was blown marking its welcome return to civic duty after being stolen in 1969. The Bishop of Dover led the service of thanksgiving and the procession then returned to enjoy a free public concert by the celebrated Dover Tales and the magnificent P&O Choir in Dover Town Hall.

The early glory days of our maritime history were also celebrated throughout the day in the Dover Tudor Festival with performances and events in the Town centre. Highlights included Sword Fighting Displays, Hebogyddiaeth Hedfan, Sioeau Pypedau, Bandiau Minstrel, Have-a-Go Saethyddiaeth, Jyglo Jesters a llawer mwy. There was lots to do and learn with great fun had by all ages.
