Mae'r Pwyllgor Cynllunio y Cyngor Tref yn cyfarfod bob mis i graffu a rhoi sylwadau ar yr holl Geisiadau Cynllunio yn y Dref. Mae Cyngor y Dref yn gwybod bod cynllunio o ansawdd uchel yn hanfodol er mwyn gwella'r amgylchedd o Dover a 13 y 18 Cynghorwyr yn eistedd ar y Pwyllgor Cynllunio ac yn mynychu'r cyfarfodydd misol. Maent yn ymuno â 2 aelodau o Gymdeithas Dover a gyda'i gilydd yn dod â nifer o flynyddoedd o brofiad a gwybodaeth am y dref i'w ystyried yn fanwl o geisiadau.
Ni all y Cyngor Tref yn rhoi caniatâd cynllunio, ond mae'n rhaid i Gyngor Dosbarth Dover yn cymryd i ystyriaeth y farn a fynegwyd ar ran y Gymuned Leol gan y Cyngor Tref wrth wneud eu penderfyniad ar y cais. Members of the Public are able to attend the meeting and may speak with the permission of the Chairman.
Yn y cyfarfod ar Hydref 15fed mae'r Pwyllgor yn ystyried 24 ceisiadau ac mae'r rhan fwyaf yn cael eu cefnogi. The Committee was careful to ensure that environmental and other conditions were to be complied with in applications.
Planning Regulations only allow objections to be raised for certain specific reasons such as that the finished development would lead to an increase in noise or level of traffic that would be harmful. At the meeting the Committee objected to one application for an extension on the grounds of over intensification of the building and the lack of plans for waste disposal and compliance with Fire Regulations. Strong objections were also raised to the change of use at the former Arc Concrete Works at Coombe Road to a facility for the storage, maintenance and distribution of shipping containers on the grounds that the access to the site is inadequate for large lorries using narrow residential roads 24/7 and that the noise, congestion and air pollution would have a negative impact on the amenities of residents and nearby routes.
The Committee also comments on alcohol and other licencing applications and objected to an application for the sale of alcohol on the basis of local and national issues related to anti-social behaviour and misuse of alcohol in a residential area.

Ac yn ogystal, mae'r Cyngor yn cefnogi gwaith y Grŵp Llywio Cynllun Cymdogaeth ar Gynllun y Gymdogaeth i Dover a fydd yn rhoi Pobl Leol yn llawer mwy o lais yn y ffordd a pha datblygiad yn cael ei ganiatáu yn y dref a helpu i sicrhau penderfyniadau cynllunio o ansawdd uchel da yn unol ag lleol anghenion.
