Πάνω από 80 αθλητές και γυναίκες, νεαροί και αξιωματούχοι διέσχισαν το κανάλι από τον Π&O Ferry νωρίς το πρωί του Σαββάτου, on 10th June 2017, to take part in the 44th annual Dover – Calais Festival of Sport. Οι πόλεις με τη σειρά τους φιλοξενούν το φεστιβάλ, που είναι τόσο παλιά όσο και η αδελφοποίησή τους, Από 1973. Ο ανταγωνισμός ήταν και φιλικός και σκληρός με over 160 participants vying for the Victor Ludorum trophy in the 5 sporting disciplines that took part in the day, Table Tennis, Sea Angling, Basketball, Shooting & Pool. Dover managed to secure the cup for a second year, σε ένα 3 – 2 νίκη.
The Town Mayor of Dover, Cllr Neil Rix said, “It was a very good day and I think everyone involved had a great day out. Ήμασταν όλοι εντυπωσιασμένοι από το επίπεδο φιλοξενίας που μας έδειξαν οι κάτοικοι του Καλαί και ανυπομονούμε να επιστρέψουμε αυτή τη φιλοξενία τον επόμενο χρόνο όταν έρθουν στο Ντόβερ. Dover Town Council hopes to improve the Twinning Festival every year and we will be looking to increase the sporting disciplines taking part in the line up in 2018”.
