Το Μνημείο του Β' Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου υποδέχτηκε η Βασιλική Βρετανική Λεγεώνα του Ντόβερ Γουάιτ Κλιφς

A commemorative bench marking the 70ου anniversary of the end of World War II has been installed in sight of the People of Dover’s War Memorial. Το δημοτικό συμβούλιο του Ντόβερ χρηματοδότησε την αγορά και την εγκατάσταση. The Council worked in partnership with the Dover White Cliffs Branch of the Royal British Legion to agree the location and Dover District Council gave necessary permissions. The new bench was warmly welcomed by officers of the RBL, Ted Smith (Vice Chairman), Brian Walton (Secretary) and Christine Walton (Ταμίας), when they met the Town Mayor, Σύμβουλος Chris Precious. “I think it’s absolutely wonderful that you can see the bench near the War Memorial as you drive or walk up the High Street” said Ted Smith.

The special bench was produced by David Ogilvie in Scotland. The Town Council is waiting for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to issue final authorisation for a similar bench commemorating World War I to be installed near to the Zeebrugge Raid Memorial at St James Cemetery.
