Local people and civic dignitaries from across the District gathered to raise a special flag for Armed Forces Day at the Town Council offices.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community – currently serving troops, service families, veterans and cadets and provide a much valued morale boost for our troops and their families.
The United Kingdom Armed Forces defend us and our interests. They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism. Our troops are brave and dedicated men and women taking risks and making sacrifices so we can live safe and comfortable lives.
