There will be one service, inclusive of 2-minute silence and wreath laying, to be held at 12 midday at the People of Dover’s War Memorial, Biggin Street, Dover. The Town Mayor of Dover, Cllr Gordon Cowan will begin the commemorations by sounding 8 rings on the Zeebrugge Bell, which is located at the nearby Dover Town Hall. The Bell was a gift of thanks from the King of Belgium in recognition of the sacrifice of British servicemen, many of whom are buried in St James Cemetery.

Kościół św. Jerzego na kret Zeebrugge był najbardziej inspirującym epizodem niedawnej historii Wielkiej Brytanii i Belgii. Pomimo straszliwej utraty życia, Raid Zeebrugge pomógł przyspieszyć koniec pierwszej wojny światowej.

As in previous years, residents of Dover and other members of the public are very welcome to attend.
