The raid is remembered on the anniversary each year in a ceremony at the Cemetery. This is followed by a further act of commemoration at Dover Town Hall where, at noon, the Town Mayor strikes the Zeebrugge Bell which hangs permanently on the balcony at the front of the Hall. The bell was the gift of the King of the Belgians to the Town of Dover. Dover Town Council funded the purchase and installation of the bench and worked in partnership with the Dover White Cliffs Branch of the Royal British Legion to agree the location and Dover District Council who gave necessary permissions.
