Countdown to Christmas in Dover 2019 got off to a fabulous start on Saturday 30th November with celebrations in the Market Square all afternoon leading up to the big Christmas Lights Switch On at 5pm.
Young People from Dover schools and colleges entertained the crowds with help from the Roadshow and – new and unique to Dover this year – some Bollywood Dancers! Dover Silver Screen Cinema fortsatte Bollywood temat med 2 visningar av Djungelboken.
Thanks to sponsorship from Dover Town Team there was a chance to fly through the air as The Snowman in a special Christmas simulator ride. Just as popular was the other free festive entertainment including Christmas Crazy Golf, Xmas Escape Room, och Mini-karusellen och Stol o-plan speciellt för små!
Jultomten besökte med sin släde artighet av Dover Rotary, och Big lokala och Dover SMART gav en chans för alla att värma upp på deras inomhus hantverk verkstäder.
Priset för den största jul besökaren gick till 30-fot långa återanvändas plast whale väckts av Transition Dover.
Salutorget var packad hela eftermiddagen och partiet slutade med den traditionella nedräkningen till julen Switch-On - med 6000 lamporna på större än någonsin Dover Town Tree och ljusa vita snöflingor längs High Street.
