מועצת העיר דובר עמדה מאחורי בית הקפה החדש של Sunrise Community עם מענק של 5,000 ליש"ט בישיבת ועדת האזרחים והפרויקטים המיוחדים לאחרונה.. בית הקפה הוא המיזם האחרון של צדקת מרכז ההסברה של Dover שמטרתו לתת לאנשים המוצאים את עצמם חסרי בית דרך לחזור לחיים טובים יותר.. המענק האחרון מוסיף ליותר מ- 38,000 ליש"ט מענקים שניתנו בשנים האחרונות, כאשר הצדקה פועלת להפוך לעצמאית..

אנו שמחים לתת מענק זה לגישה חדשה זו המביאה את כולם יחד, לחלוק אוכל טוב ולתת למי שזקוק לו יד לעזרה מתוך עוני המזון.
בית הקפה הקהילתי החדש פתוח כעת, מבוסס על מרכז הימאים לשעבר, 168-172 רחוב סנרגייט, דובר. מנוהל באופן מקצועי ומתמקד בהבטחת מי שזקוק לעזרה יקבל תמיכה והזנה של ארוחות חמות לעצמו ולבני משפחותיו. הוא מציע קבלת פנים חמה לכולם. קיים מודל "שלם מה שאתה יכול" והתפריט כולל דרגות מחירים - מחיר מלא, מחיר למי שמקבל הטבות ולאלה ללא גישה להטבות, – כך שכולם "ישלמו מה שהם יכולים".
A voucher system/pay it forward scheme is also planned so that members of the public can donate and gift meals for others so that no one goes hungry. Meals can be subsidised or upgraded using the voucher scheme, free meals can be provided for those who have no source of income and no means of cooking themselves a hot meal. Sunrise is keen to reach out to families and individuals in need of support and will therefore be tailoring different services to suit all of their customers. Full paying customers will be helping others in a constructive way.
