De burgemeester heeft ruim £ 2000 formeel overhandigd aan de liefdadigheidsinstelling Meningitis Now, Raadslid Neil Rix. Meningitis Now financiert onderzoek naar de ziekte en ondersteunt families van patiënten. Ben Williams received the cheque on behalf of the Charity in memory of his son Harry. During the year there have been a number of well supported fund raising events for the Charity run by the Mayor – the latest being a tour of the South Foreland lighthouse and the Fan Bay tunnels where the cheque presentation took place.
