The Town Council and the people of Dover are deeply saddened to hear of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Philip was married to the Queen for over 70 years and devoted himself to a life of outstanding public service and duty. He was a good friend to Dover, visiting with Her Majesty in 1958 a znova v 2006 for the celebrations of the founding of the Port 400 pred rokmi. During that visit he was particularly keen to hear about the Town’s wartime history and experience together with its modern role as a major international travel hub.
We send our condolences and our thoughts are with Her Majesty and the Royal Family as we mourn his loss.
