Dover Town Council Flies the Rainbow Flag

For the second year Dover will be supporting LGBT History Month in February by flying the Rainbow Flag. ο 2019 Theme is Peace, Reconciliation and Activism.

LBGT history month aims to

  • Increase the visibility of lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people, their history, lives and their experiences in the culture of the wider community
  • Raise awareness and advance education on matters affecting the LGBT Community
  • Work to make educational and other institutions safe spaces for all LGBT Communities
  • Promote the welfare of LGBT people by ensure that the education system recognises and enables LGBT people to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilled lives thus benefiting society as a whole.Αντιδήμαρχος, Councillor Ian Palmer said

Flying the rainbow flag is a small gesture but still a very positive outward symbol of inclusiveness, one that openly helps to demonstrate a working commitment towards equalities.
