Members of our local Royal British Legion (White Cliffs) Branch braved the rain today to lay out the Garden of Remembrance at the People of Dover’s War Memorial. The black British Legion official crosses are placed in memory of all those regiments connected with Dover during the two World Wars. Coordinator and former Reservist Peter Hall has been part of the hard-working team for 10 années.
Peter said
It is a privilege to do this work each year in memory of all those men and women who put their lives on the line. My Father was in the RAF and I wear his medals not only for him but to commemorate all those thousands of others who risked as much as he did and gave their lives
Members of the RBL will be at the Garden of Remembrance for the next two weeks collecting as part of the Poppy Appeal in support of the Charity which does so much to help our service men and women and their families.

La ville de service annuel du Souvenir aura lieu au Peuple de Monument commémoratif de guerre de Douvres à 11h00 le dimanche 10 Novembre 2019 pour commémorer tous les militaires qui ont donné leur vie au service de leur pays. Tout le monde est invité à assister.
Un défilé de normes, anciens combattants et d'autres organisations se rassembleront à l'extérieur du B&M Magasin (Marks anciens & Spencer) dans la rue Biggin à 10.30am et mars au Monument commémoratif de guerre devant la Maison Maison Dieu où deux minutes de silence sera observée à 11h00. Le service commémoratif sera effectué par l'aumônier honoraire du maire, Reverend Sean Sheffield and will be followed by the laying of wreaths. Le défilé sera ensuite marcher à travers la ville à la place du marché. Le conseiller Gordon Cowan, la Ville de droite Worshipful maire de Douvres prendra le salut à St. Église de Marie.
Route Prieuré sera temporairement fermé à partir du rond-point pour les feux de circulation Ladywell alors que le service est en cours.
