Members of our local Royal British Legion (White Cliffs) Branch braved the rain today to lay out the Garden of Remembrance at the People of Dover’s War Memorial. The black British Legion official crosses are placed in memory of all those regiments connected with Dover during the two World Wars. Coordinator and former Reservist Peter Hall has been part of the hard-working team for 10 Jahre.
Peter said
It is a privilege to do this work each year in memory of all those men and women who put their lives on the line. My Father was in the RAF and I wear his medals not only for him but to commemorate all those thousands of others who risked as much as he did and gave their lives
Die Mitglieder der RBL werden für die nächsten zwei Wochen sammeln im Rahmen der Poppy Appeal zur Unterstützung des Charity im Garten der Erinnerung sein, die so viel tut, um unsere Service-Männern und Frauen und ihre Familien zu helfen.

Die Stadt Annual Service der Erinnerung findet an den Menschen von Dover Ist Memorial um 11.00 Uhr am Sonntag 10 November 2019 zum Gedenken an all jene Servicepersonal, die ihr Leben in den Dienst ihres Landes gegeben haben. Jeder ist eingeladen.
Eine Parade von Standards, veterans and other organisations will assemble outside the B&M Store (former Marks & Spencer) in Biggin Street at 10.30am and march to the War Memorial in front of Maison Dieu House where two minutes silence will be observed at 11.00am. Die Gedenkveranstaltung wird vom Bürgermeister Ehre Chaplain durchgeführt werden, Reverend Sean Sheffield and will be followed by the laying of wreaths. Die Parade wird dann durch die Stadt zum Marktplatz marschieren zurück. Ratsmitglied Gordon Cowan, der rechte Worshipful Stadt Bürgermeister von Dover wird den Gruß an St nehmen. Marienkirche.
Priory Road vorübergehend aus dem Kreisverkehr auf die Ladywell Ampel geschlossen, während der Service ist im Gange sein.
