Destination Dover Success – St Edmund’s Chapel to receive £46,000 funding boost!

St Edmund’s Chapel, דובר, is to be given a £46,000 boost from the Coastal Revival Fund thanks to a successful bid by St Edmund of Abingdon Memorial Trust. The bid was project managed by Destination Dover – Dover’s flagship Tourism Organisation funded by the Town Council and Big Local.

 

This project will enable the Trust to:

  • Carry out recommended conservational work;
  • Improve access to St Edmund’s Chapel;
  • Improve facilities for activities and events for the local community and visitors to enjoy all year round
  • Increase the chapel’s cultural role within Dover’s community and visitor economy.

 

St Edmund’s Chapel, located in the busy centre of Dover on Priory Road is the second oldest functional building in the town; it was built in 1253 and re-consecrated in 1968. The Trust has developed a plan to facilitate greater year-round access for the local community and interested visitors.
