Town Council supports 75th Channel Dash Raid Commemoration

该 75 Anniversary Memorial Service of the Channel Dash is being supported with a grant of £1,000 from the Town Council towards the costs of the event including insurance, road closures and first aid. The Town Mayor Councillor Neil Rix and the Chairman of the Civic and Special Projects Committee Councillor John Lamoon presented the cheque to Trustee of the Channel Dash Memorial Trust, Mr Jim Williams.

Rear Admiral Ramsey was in charge of the Dover Cliffs War Room and “Operation Fuller” on 12th February 1942 when 147 young men gave their lives in defence of their country.

The service to remember their sacrifice will take place on Saturday 30 September at the “Operation Fuller” Memorial at Marine Parade, 多佛. More details can be found on the Channel Dash Memorial Trust website – www.channeldash.org
