Dover Consiliul Town este setat pentru a obține statutul de Panglica albă ca urmare a unui raport de la Chris Precious consilier și un vot de Consiliul Full Town. Panglica albă din Marea Britanie lucrează cu bărbați și băieți să conteste aceste culturi de sex masculin care duc la hărțuire, abuz și violență. Voluntari ambasadori de lucru pentru a chema un comportament printre alți bărbați și băieți și să promoveze o cultură a egalității și respectului.
Violența domestică este în creștere în Marea Britanie cu 6 out of every 7 victims being women and 9 out of every 10 offenders being men. The Town Council joins nearly 100 other public sector organisations supporting White Ribbon and backed up its committment with a budget of up to £1,000 to complete the Accreditation Plan including:
- Identifying White Ribbon Ambassadors to train and develop the campaign and act as mentors locally
- Encouraging all at the Town Council to sign the pledge “Never Commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women and girls”
- Using a clear system to report, assess and deal with incidents of abuse towards women and children and to encourage everyone to report such incidents
- Displaying appropriate information promoting and raising awareness about respectful relationships and abuse
- Training and awareness raising events involving the local Community and the Council at all levels
- Marking the 25lea November – United nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and girls which is also White Ribbon Day
