The theme of this year’s event was “Torn from Home” as victims were forced out of their homes and taken to death camps.

Following the wreath laying service there was a talk by Deal Councillor Ben Bano in Deal Town Hall “Humanity in the face of Evil – Four Women confront the Holocaust”. They included Anne Frank whose diaries are world famous, Simone Weil member of the French resistance who died in Ashford, ভিক্ষুণী এডিথ স্টেইন ও লেখক Etty Hillesum যাদের উভয় Auschwitz মারা যান.
