Dover Sparkles for Christmas!

Christmas cheer was spread throughout Dover during the weekend (Decembris 1 un 2) with the annual Christmas celebration featuring special Chinese Dragon and Lion Dancing entertainment and the switch on of the Christmas Tree and festive lights by Mayor of Dover Cllr Sue Jones supported by special guest Kung Fu Panda!

More than 700 people attended the switch on and saw Market Square illuminated by Dover’s Christmas Tree, which is bigger and brighter than previous years, standing at 28ft with about 5,000 light.

Despite the weather, Dover hosted a whole weekend of festive fun which included craft stalls, a Rodeo Reindeer, Traditional Fairground games, and other activities that were near Market Square and Cannon Street, including of course, Santa.

Jack Frost, a Christmas Tree and Reindeer Stilt Walkers visited the town centre bringing their own Christmas sparkle to the town. A magician and circus skills entertainer was also on hand wowing crowds with a range of spectacular illusions.

The highlight of the weekend was the fabulous Chinese Dragon and Lion Dancing entertainment, all the way from Chinatown in London, bringing a burst of colour to the crowds in Market Square.
