Dover “Pop Up Business School” Gives a Big Boost to Small Business

The Pop-Up Business School was back in Dover with Dover Town Council funding last week helping a full house of local people eager to learn how to set up their own business and to get going.

Self-employment can be a real opportunity to achieve economic independence and job satisfaction. Starting your own business is an exciting but daunting prospect. Getting help and support as well as the right mind set early on in the business is crucial to success. But many people find traditional business support programmes unattractive and irrelevant to their circumstances with lack of money being a frequent and large barrier to people testing out their business ideas.

The Pop-Up Business School (PUBS) offers a completely new and exciting approach for would be start-ups and entrepreneurs. Rather than focusing on the normal approach to business planning and finding capital to put at risk, it encourages people to build their confidence, sell something and get paid for it as soon as they can (the internet and personal contact are wonderful opportunities!), and making a profit. This enables people to try out their idea with little risk – make money doing what they love. With practical and hands-on support, the participants left knowing how to set up their own website, find customers and get off to a flying start.

Last year the Town Council together with a number of East Kent partners, including Big Local Dover,

Я просто хотів би сказати, скільки Pop-Up Бізнес школа дала мені впевненість, щоб піти і поставити свій бізнес там для відмінних друзів і сім'ї, щоб побачити людей, and how many fabulous small businesses there are in Dover who now have the confidence and knowledge they need to further themselves and their business.

мер Dover, Радник Сью Джонс сказав:

Ми вважаємо, що наші інвестиції в наданні допомоги місцевим жителям зрозуміти, як створити стійкі бізнес матиме реальне значення для майбутнього нашого міста. Passion and genuine knowledge from the Pop-Up Business School will equal success
