První Celebration Městský úřad Mezinárodního dne žen se konala v sobotu 9th Března v jednacím sále městské rady v Maison Dieu domě. Those marking the achievements of women were urged not just to celebrate but to recognise the fight is not over and that there are women and young girls in every country on Earth being denied the right to quality of life, hlas a budoucnost. Každý, kdo tam byl požádán, aby se tu myšlenku s nimi a najít způsob, jak být dalším nástrojem na změnu k lepšímu v budoucnu.
Dawn Madison od místních Arts Charity Dover chytrý a Paula Elliott, Director of Dover Pitman’s Training spoke about women’s achievements in their sector. Both Dawn and Paula, who celebrates 20 years running her business this year, drew on their years of experience to make some serious points about how far women have come towards equal opportunities and how far there is yet to go. The evening ended with singing led by a ladies choir together with mocktails and refreshments.
Mezinárodní den žen je globální den slaví sociální, hospodářský, kulturní a politické úspěchy žen – zároveň označení výzvu k akci pro urychlení genderové vyváženosti.
Tématem letošního ročníku je #BalanceforBetter - svět bude lepším místem, kdyby ženy a muži mohou oba, aby veškeré příspěvky do komunitního života.
Výtěžek z tomboly a dary na noc budou mít prospěch starosty charity, Alzheimerova společnost a Dover Outreach Center.
