Umumi Tuvalet Planı

İnsanların dışarıdayken tuvalete ihtiyaç duyduğunu biliyoruz., so we try to find cost-effective ways to increase the number of safe, clean loo shops. DTC set up a community toilet scheme in 2011 to solve the problems of unattended toilets: crime, vandalism, drug use, and antisocial activities. Public toilets cost over £30K a year for the town, and businesses in our community toilet scheme offer much better value, providing free, high-quality, supervised facilities for everyone in Dover. Here are two of our favourite CTS members in the town:

Sunrise Cafe, part of the Dover Outreach charity, which provides support to the homeless in Dover. The Sunrise Cafe has been very successful in providing a daily fresh menu, a canteen with vegan and vegetarian options, and stellar homemade cakes, sweets, and desserts to enjoy all year round. They also showcase a community gallery and social space, an accessible washroom, and a life-saving defibrillator on Snargate Street, the western entrance to Dover Town. Additional signage was recently installed to highlight what Snargate Street offers to passing trade. Sunrise is a lovely, bright space offering delicious food and drink with some outside tables for sunny days. The team at the Sunrise Cafe also offers outside catering.

Rebels coffee shop, located at the ferry terminal end of Marine Parade on the seafront. Rebels cater to both locals and visitors, offering authentic international pop-up cuisine, a family-friendly coffee shop, an audio and leisure area, and a safe, accessible community hub for fun activities. Plus, some great public facilities, including toilets, changing facilities, showers, and a community sauna (the Sealovers Centre). Rebels coffee shop is run by the lovely Tim and his team, who also manage the steampunk sauna on the beach by the seasports centre. Rebels is a quirky, fresh place for drinks and snacks, surrounded by Tim’s graffiti-style artworks. You can enjoy craft beers, artisan coffees, handmade kombuchas, and other delicious drinks. The small range of sourdough toasties with kimchi and pickles is complemented by yummy cakes and ice creams.

All the other businesses and individuals involved in this scheme and operation collaborate closely with the town council to:

  • Provide high-quality public services.
  • Maximise opportunities for small businesses.
  • Boost the local tourist and visitor economy with their own uniqueness.
