Town Mayor Attends Big Ideas Fun Family Festival

The Right Worshipful Town Mayor of Dover attended the Big Ideas Fun Family Festival, held at Biggin Hall and Riverside Gardens on Saturday 1st August 2026.
The free festival brought children, families and local residents together for a varied programme of arts, crafts, play and imaginative activities. It encouraged creativity, exploration and learning for all ages while providing a welcoming outdoor space in which families could spend time together.
The event also helped bring new life to Riverside Gardens, transforming an underused green space overlooking Dover Castle and the River Dour into an attractive community venue.
During the visit, the Town Mayor met organisers, participating families and members of the local community. The festival highlighted the importance of creative opportunities for children and the valuable contribution made by local organisations supporting families across Dover.
Dover Town Council was pleased to support the festival as an event partner.
