DOVERIN NUORISOFESTIVAALI 2025

Nuoret ottavat johdon tällä puolivälillä!

Dover will burst into life next week as the Doverin nuorisofestivaali (Kasvaa) 2025 returns for a full week of creativity, culture, and communityrunning 18th-26th October throughout the half-term holiday.

Organised by Tulevaisuuden valimo, in partnership with 26 local and national organisations, DYF celebrates the imagination and talent of Dover’s young people with a programme of free events and activities for ages 11–19.

Now in its third year, DYF has become an important annual event for Dover’s young people, and for its cultural economy. Last year’s festival saw 1,769 total attendances ja created 150+ employment opportunities in the town.

This year’s programme explores more of Dover’s outdoor spaces, encouraging young people to discover, create, and reimagine the landscapes that shape their town. Highlights include stargazing urban exploration at Dover Castle with English Heritage, who are opening hidden areas beyond the usual “keep out” signs, and creative collaborations with Kent Wildlife Trust, White Cliffs Maaseutu kumppanuus, ja Kent Downsin kansallinen maisema, remixing sounds and stories from nature. There is also taster girls football and rugby sessions, taking inspiration from our national teams with Dover Athletic Football Club ja Dover Sharks Rugby Club.

"What we really noticed last year was how much young people valued being outdoors – 91% said it made them feel happy and relaxed,” said Lisa Oulton, Future Foundryn johtaja. "So this year, we’ve built on that with more outdoor events, alongside the creative workshops we do bestmaking giant puppets, creating costumes and props for performances, and even a DYF talent show!"

There’s also a free Youth Café running every afternoon at Biggin Hall where you can find out more, plus pottery, dancing, and giant puppet-making, free lunches at workshops and free transport to many of the outdoor events.

Everyone’s invited to join in, celebrate, and support Dover’s next generation of makers, esiintyjät, and creative leaders.
