It looks like a freewheeling summer ahead as funds totalling £100,000 to support the Dover Cycle Hire Scheme have been released by Kent County Council. The Scheme will allow users to hire bikes for a short spin or a longer ride in and around the Town with the flexibility to collect and drop off the bikes from a number of convenient “hubs”.
A spokesperson for the Town Council said
“We are delighted. A massive amount of hard work and detailed preparation have been put in and the grant is a huge vote of confidence in the quality of our Scheme. Dover residents and visitors will benefit alike from this new environmentally friendly and healthy way to travel about our historic town and access our beautiful countryside. Thanks go to the Destination Dover team who spearheaded the proposal to secure this well-deserved funding.”
