Coronavirus – COVID 19 – Town Council Services

Dover Town Council appreciate the difficulties and challenges being faced in the current circumstances.

Town Council staff continue to signpost members of the public to national and local advice and support. We continue to support the local voluntary sector in supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.

The council has in place a business continuity plan; the technology to enable home working as needed and delegations to allow for services to continue however the situation develops.

No legislation or official government guidance has been enacted to allow cancellation of Full Council meetings but discretionary meetings and events are being reviewed on a case by case basis to ensure the mitigation of risks to councillors, staff and the public.

The Annual Zeebrugge Raid commemorations are currently being discussed with our Flemish counterparts but it is expected that the events both here and in Belgium will be scaled back.

This is a fast-evolving situation and matters and changes affecting the Town Council will be made public and posted here as soon as possible.

For all other advice and guidance please consult the latest Government information.
